LAKE JACKSON
This beautiful Lake, the only one divided by the Florida - Alabama line,was named for Andrew
Jackson. The General and his 1200 men camped for three weeks on the shores of this Lake in
1819. Jackson was on his way to Pensacola where Florida was ceded to the United States by
Spain. Jackson traveled to Pensacola from the lake over the famous Red Ground Indian Trail.
